One of the most popular apartments at Abbey del Sol. Huge windows let in the sun and refreshing cross breeze. Relaxing private balcony overlooking the sparkling blue pool and lush garden; the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee and meals. Table, 4 chairs, and 2 lounge chairs to relax and read. This is one of our larger apartments, located on the second floor with a king bed with 500 thread count sheets. Well-equipped kitchen with granite countertops. Free Wi-Fi, bikes, and a large flat-screen TV. Linens supplied. Price base for 2 guests. Extra person per night $30 USD .

The Abbey del Sol property has 7 comfortable apartments. Rent individually for couples and small families or in combination for groups and large families. Beautiful gardens, a refreshing pool. 2 blocks to the beach, and 8 blocks to the town square. Central office is onsite with friendly English-speaking staff to help you with anything you need.

  We had great stay. Our spot at Abbey del Sol was very clean and had some very nice touches. Such as snacks , coffee and the all important drinks in the fridge after a gruelling drive down the hiway. We had a problem with our fridge and it was immediately dealt with. Bravo to the Abbey.

  Apt 10 was our second unit and it was larger than the first but on the second floor. The large balcony overlooks the pool area.
  Lovely unit with that Mexican charm.
  Clean and comfortable.
  My only wish was that it was closer to the centre of town for restaurants but it is very close to the Fives which we ate at twice and the the famous Unico Beach Club.

  We stayed in Puerto Morelos for 6 mights. Abbey del sol was perfect for us. We stayed in Unit 10. The balcony was spacious for lounging, having a meal and playing cards. The bikes, beach chairs, beach bag and beach towels were appreciated and allowed us to enjoy the beach so much more. Close to the beach, restaurants and the town square but less hustle and bustle than the center of town. Highly recommended.

  Booked this place after a bunch of research; decided on apt #10 and it was not a mistake. We want to go back. Having stayed exclusively on resorts this was our first time staying anywhere else.
  The entirety of the experience with Abbey del Sol was 5 stars but the part that made it exceptional was the front office. Mariala and Mildred brought the experience to another level. Asked for taxis and boom they arrived. Asked them for a couple’s massage in our room, boom, they came and were awesome.
  The room was spotless with almost everything you could want to live in it.
  The bikes turned out to be a necessity. We used them several times each day. The pool was very relaxing.
  We nailed it with this booking. Apt 10 specifically is more expensive than a lot of other places you can find in Puerto Morelos, the difference is, I didn’t really have a single critique with Abbey del Sol whereas a lot of other people we met had several with their accommodations.
  I would highly recommend Abbey del Sol to anyone looking for this type of experience.

  First time in Puerto Morales, although I've been to Mexico about 10 and Tulum twice. I was a very charmed; was only able to stay one night- but I will be back and I will stay at Abbey del Sol! The process and service from booking to the communication to the check-in/check- out was exceptional. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and they had a smart TV, which are really important to me. They allowed me to check out an hour late without a fee and store my bags in the office. They have free bike rentals and it's a super easy way to get down to the restaurants which will only take you 5 minutes or so. There is not one other person at the pool and it was bliss!   We were so impressed with Abbey del Sol! This was our first time in Puerto Morelos and this place was all we would ever need. We will definitely stay there again next time. The staff was absolutely the sweetest and most helpful. They arranged transportation from the airport and stayed in the office a little later so they could bring us to our room. It was so quiet. The pool was perfect, everything was so clean, there was so much helpful info in a binder they supplied. 10/10 experience. We had about a 10 minute walk into town but we wouldn’t change the location because we wanted a good night sleep in a quiet place and that’s exactly what this was. Thank you Abbey del Sol!

  We loved our stay at Abbey Del Sol supported by Mary, Mildred, and Jin. The apartment was large, including a kitchen outfitted with all the supplies we needed.
  We appreciated the detailed information and map and all the help with got from the staff. And we loved sitting at the beautiful pool with a bubbling fountain at the end of the day.
  The beach was 5 minutes away, with easy, inexpensive chair, umbrella and table rental. In addition, the town was lovely- with great restaurants and shops. When we come back, we will be sure to stay longer and plan on taking nearby yoga classes. It was a great experience- thank you!

  We had a spacious well equipped apartment with a big balcony that had a dining table and two loungers. From one side was a view of the pool and the other end of the apartment a view out onto the street. It was airy and comfortable with another large dining table inside. It is less than five minutes walk to the beach. There are bikes available plus beach furniture. The office personnel and other staff were friendly and helpful. When our stay was cut short due to the Covid crisis, they refunded our missing two days.

  Celebrating Christmas with family in Puerto was made extra sweet by having a lovely peaceful Oasis to retire. The staff was helpful and welcoming every day.   Perfect... quiet and comfortable. I wish I could of stayed for more than just one night, I will definitely book again (much longer, a week or two). Very spacious room (apartment) with kitchen, dining and living area. The bedroom and bed was very comfortable with a huge deck overlooking the pool. Well kept and lush landscaping, free wifi and they also had bikes to ride (at no extra charge). I had a very nice stay and would highly recommend. Awesome staff!!

  Abbey del Sol is a 7-unit complex on the northern end of town. It is comprised of two 3-story buildings with a lovely pool in between. The pictures on their website are accurate. It is very well maintained and the apartment was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The Abbey del Sol management office is located at this property (they managed probably 10 properties in the area) and they are so helpful and fun to talk with (especially Mariela and Jin). They had new bikes (8 or 10) this visit and we really enjoyed riding them around town. This is a great place to stay when in Puerto Morelos.

  Abbey del Sol is a wonderful oasis away from the crowds but close enough to downtown Puerto Morelos (10-15 minute walk) to take advantage of an exceptional supermarket, shops, restaurants and other services offered there. Abbey del Sol's staff are wonderful, helpful and responsive, the units are very well and thoughtfully outfitted, everything was perfect except... we discovered during this stay that the management company accepts children as guests. Normally this might not be an issue but unfortunately not all children, or parents, exhibit behaviour that is thoughtful of others staying at the property. We witnessed adults vacating the pool area when certain families appeared and heard complaints from other guests of early morning activities and noise heard through flooring and off balconies. Unfortunate, as these episodes spoil the absolutely wonderfully relaxing experience that Abbey del Sol usually affords. Children being allowed isn't mentioned on Abbey del Sol's website (that I could find) so this was a complete surprise to us.

The king sized bed was super comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped with quality dishes and pots and pans. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the beach.   We have stayed at Abbey del Sol several times. For our needs, this is a perfect apartment hotel....and we love it. The bed is comfortable, with good bed linens, not sticky sweaty polyester.....the pool is in excellent condition and the kitchen is very well equipped with china, new cooking utensils and pots and pans. Recent improvements to the bathroom have made it lovely. And the staff is simply excellent.

  We had an absolutely perfect vacation experience at Abbey Del Sol Apt#10. The online booking was easy with prompt confirmation of booking details and payment schedule. On arrival we were met by Mariela and introduced to Nancy and Milko the office team who were available all week to offer anything we required. Apt.#10 is a large one bedroom clean nicely decorated apartment overlooking the has a large covered deck with table chairs and loungers. The building and grounds are beautifully well kept with nice gardens and palms surrounding the pool. All staff that we encountered were friendly and polite. We enjoy a quiet relaxed atmosphere and that's exactly what you get at Abbey Del Sol. All the other quests were polite and easy to talk to. Mariela arranged with Jin to help us move to our next accommodation in Puerto Morelos which was nice.
  We highly recommend Abby Del Sol and would not hesitate to book here again.

  Surprises: 1) The bed was AWESOME! Mexico for me, has been known as a country with very hard beds. Unit 10 in Abbey del Sol has a comfy bed - one of the better beds I've slept on. The bedroom gets nice and cool at night. Both of these factors added up to great night's sleeps. 2) the folks who cleaned the room mid-stay really took pride in their work. They made cleaned thoroughly, restocked, and left fresh flowers. 3) the pool is surprisingly cold. We had water served to us at restaurants in town that were warmer than the pool ;) The courtyard is shaded so that explains that. It was still nice - you just had to coax yourself in slowly. 4) One evening, our electricity went out - only in our apartment. We got in touch with Tin who got electricians out and had it working again by the time we went to bed.
  
  Here were our favorite restaurants: El Nicho (Breakfast), Unico Beach (Lunch), and My Little Italy (Dinner). We had bloody Mary's a couple of times at Pangea in town - very nice and a good drink.
  
  One thing we missed was walking to the other side of the town square for meals. We had all of ours on the north side of the town square but on the last night, we walked past the flea market (blissfully closed at night) and saw several other restaurants we wished we had tried. That's a reason to go back!
  
  The people at Abbey del Sol were lovely. Both the guests and the employees but especially notable were Caroline, Nancy, and Tin. All of them so helpful and friendly.
  
  We will be back, for sure!

  I would recommend Abbey del Sol to anyone! The apartment is well equiped and REALLY clean. We loved the little village of Puerto Morelos; the people were very nice and kind. The only deception was about the seaweeds; we could not swim at all because of the tremendous amount of seaweeds, which was an exceptional situation. We enjoyed a lot the pool, but didn't apreciate the comments about the fact that we were not showering enough to take out the sunscream and that we were giving a "hard time" to the pool... Beside that situation, it was perfect!

It was beyond our expectations, clean and very comfortable. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The bicycles were a plus and the best way to get around the town of Puerto Morelos. Easy couple of blocks to walk to the beach. Nice variety of local restaurants with outdoor seating. The property and amenities were exactly as described on the web site.   The owners are fabulous. They have gone to a great deal of effort to make one's stay in Puerto Morelos as easy and enjoyable as possible. From the four-page document on their website detailing all the tips and tricks regarding passports, taxis, the airport, directions, money exchange, electrical outlets ATMs and airport transfer, to the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff at the front counter, they have taken care of everything.   We spent 11 nights at Abbey Del Sol #2. We lived in Apt. 10 for the first six nights and then moved to Apt. 8 (as Apt. 10 had a prior booking). The setting is perfect. The apartments surround a courtyard and garden with a swimming pool and lounge chairs in the center. The property and gardens are attractive and are well maintained. It is only a two block walk to the beach and about a 20 minute walk into the town center. It was always a pleasure to come back to the Abbey. It is quiet and cool. The rooms are equipped with ceiling fans. A/C is also there but we found that the fans were enough. Both apartments we were in were well equipped. We ate both breakfast and lunch on our terrace and then frequented one of the numerous good restaurants for dinner. You will find a great book in each apartment which provides lots of information about Puerto Morelos, including a list of recommended restaurants.
  Abby and Tiff were wonderful and always made us feel at home and welcomed. All the staff are very helpful and friendly.
  Apt. 10 is considerably larger than Apt. 8 and it also has a very nice balcony with a table and 4 chairs as well as 2 lounge chairs. We really felt at home in this apartment. Apt. 8, though smaller, is certainly comfortable for two.

  Abbey del Sol was fantastic. The location was great, close to the beach, the accommodations were well appointed, and the staff was amazing. We can't say enough about our stay here. We were traveling with a 22 month old and Abbey del Sol was perfect for our little guy. We used the pool and the bikes a lot. Do yourself a favour and stay here!

  I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while in Puerto Morelos. While we had a few bumps - we got a different room than we reserved - it was all taken care of quickly and professionally. And, looking back, we actually got put into a room with a nicer patio and the owners went out of there way to ensure we were happy and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and we would certainly go back.

  Second year at Abbey 2, but first in # 10 . A great cross breeze from front room with a screened door opening to a tiny balcony through to the back bedroom slicing door out to the Hugh balcony complete with hammock, umbrella, table and chairs for 4 and 2 lounges, one with the palm tree hanging over it for shade. It also faces the pool and the garden wall!

  This is our third visit to Abbey's. We have been coming to R. Mayan area for 10 years and enjoy the ease of having an apartment/hotel atmosphere. You have control of mean schedule and choice of restaurants. Each meal can be in or out according to your whims and time is your choice. On our stay there was no beach hassle of finding a chair or when to go. Having so many movies to choose from made the rare rainy day pass quickly. You can be busy or you can be lazy...the best of all worlds.

  Me and my husband stayed at Abbey del Sol for a week and had a wonderful time. The apartment was spacious and they thought of everything: fantastic beachchairs, beach towels, an umbrella for the beach, free bikes, dvd's, books, a very well equiped kitchen and if you needed transport to Cancun or Playa it was available too for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the apartment is at a 3 minute walk from the beach.
  We would recommend the appartment to everyone and hope we will come back one day!

  Very efficient reservation process. Spacious, clear and nicely furnished apartment. Well-maintained property. Reasonable prices. The beach is walking distance and bikes are provided to go to the small town center. Puerto Morelos is a very safe and charming
  place to stay . No high rise or big resorts there and very peaceful. The reef barrier national park is really worthwhile seeing and only a short distance away from the shore. A very nice stay for us and I would recommend Abbey del Sol
