The staff are wonderful and help you out with whatever you needall issues. It was quiet and a short walk to the beach. The beauty of Puerto Morelos is that you can walk just about anywhere in a short amount of time. There are also bikes available for your use if walking isn't your thing. No complaints from us, loved every minute and hope to return.

  Perfect small unit for two. Absolutely quiet. Staff were wonderful with immediate response to any trivial issues. Located about a kilometer from the main tourist area and a three minute walk to the beach. The free provision of bikes made it very convenient to explore various parts of the beach and to do daily shopping. The pool is nice to lounge in and around but to small to swim.
  For the best margaritas ever and wonderful fresh Mexican dishes all very reasonably priced we recommend Blue Morelos- about a 12 minute walk

  We had an amazing and relaxing stay at Abbey del Sol. The accommodation is located in a very calm part koijof Puerto Morelos and the rooms are spacious, very clean and nicely decorated (we stayed in a king room). Mariela and Jin were very kind and helped us with all of our questions and inquiries (and there were not few) thanks to which our overall trip in Mexico was much better - really super exceptionally amazing service that is very hard to find in any part of the world. They connected us also with their friend Thomas who was very kind and offered us good packages on snorkling and different tours (just be careful if you go for a whale shark tour to check if the partnering agency is DC Explorer as they might not be the most reliable, also the boat time is 7hours). Definitely our number one accommodation in Mexico so far (we stayed at 5 places during our 14-day trip) and we would definitely stay again if we are back in puerto morelos.

  This is a beautiful quiet property and the apartment was great. Very bright and had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. They offer cleaning weekly but you can get fresh bath and beach towels as frequent as you need. The team there was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a nice pool area. There is also a roof top deck with great views. They could use a few more chairs up there but it was a great place to visit each evening. One note-this is a 15 minute walk into town for shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the walks through the neighborhood. There are also bikes available. There are a couple great beach clubs nearly and not the crowds that are closer to town. We hope to be back soon.

Their wonderful pool, read at peace in your room, or walk 5min to the beach. Perfect location! You can walk into town for dinner and comfortably stroll back to your peaceful abode. The rooms are equipped with a full kitchen. The beds are comfortable with firm mattresses, and linen is clean although about 400 ply. A/C is a must during the summer months. You will enjoy your stay here and enjoy the staff. We visit Pto Morelos at least 8 times per year, and we stay here each time.

  Wonderful accommodation in a quiet, safe, friendly location. Fully equipped kitchen with needed utensils and appliances. Very comfortable bed. Impeccably clean. Refreshing swimming pool which is also kept very clean. Any small issues, needs, or questions were dealt with in a friendly, professional, and very satisfactory manner. Everything in good working order. A few blocks walk to the beach or town or there are bikes to use. The snorkelling and swimming at the beach is great. Also for anyone interested in improving their Spanish, there is a Language School with excellent teachers who will provide lessons, quite close to Abbey del Sol.

  I just spent 3 nights at Abbey Del Sol and wish it had been much longer. First, the pueblo of Puerto Morelos is a great little town that splits the difference between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, both aesthetically and geographically. More importantly, Abbey Del Sol is a beautifully maintained, tastefully decorated, professionally managed property that makes a perfect home away from home for any length of stay from a couple of nights to a couple of weeks. The property and amenities are modern and clean, and everything works as it should. It is also safe (as is the town in general)and almost preternaturally quiet, especially when compared to the aforementioned cities to its north and south. It is a pleasant walk or a short bike ride to the town's main drag and town square, and barely 2 blocks to the beach. Highly recommended!

  This is a nice place. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. Mariella was very helpful whenever we needed her. Jin was also great. Their English is quite good.
  We like the bedroom being separate from the remainder of the small apartment. Since my wife is an early riser, and I am not, it was great. There is also a cozy little balcony overlooking the pool.

  I used the link on the website to book my transfer from the airport to Abbey del Sol. Jin was right where he said he would be in picking me up. I couldn't ask for a smoother transfer. Once I arrived to meet my daughter, the property was beautiful and tranquil just as it was presented; clean and well maintained. I appreciated having coffee provided for the next morning without having to go out and shop as soon as I got there. The bikes that are provided allowed for a fun and quick trip into the quant village to shop for a few food items. The entire office staff are amazing and so very helpful as they went above and beyond to make our stay the most memorable one. With Nancy's help in securing a rental car for a day, my daughter and I were able to visit Coba ruins and two cenotes without having to be rushed. It was very easy to drive ourselves there and enjoy and full day ending in Tulum for some dinner on the beach. On another day we took the ADO (bus) to Playa del Carmen for some shopping and beach time. When we were not out and about we enjoyed taking a short walk to the beach. We spent a lot of time at Unico Beach Club which is just a block away on the beach. They have really good food and the best margaritas. The swings at the bar were an added bonus. I would suggest to go snorkeling on the reefs it was the most beautiful experience ever. The coral, fish, lobster, eel and conch that we saw were amazing and we felt like we were swimming in a topical aquarium. Overall, I would highly recommend Abbey del Sol for your next vacation spot. I've already recommended it to several people and I would like to bring my husband in the future so he can experience the ultimate in serenity.

  This is our second time staying at Abbey del Sol. We were in apartment #7 for 16 nights october-November and wish we could have stayed longer. Our apartment was clean and spacious enough for us. We had a king size bed with a comfortable mattress and nice linens. Bedding change and cleaning was done on a regular basis. There are bicycles available to use which was very much appreciated and helped us get any where we needed in the town of Puerto Morelos. We didn't need to rent a car. Nancy and her staff are so helpful with anything we needed and are available. Transportation to and from the airport is available through Abbey del Sol also. The grounds are well kept up and it's only a two block walk to the beach/ocean. We will definitely be going back again and hopefully for even a longer period of time.

  This is our 5th year staying in apartment #7 at Abbey del Sol and it is our 6th year staying at Abbey del Sol. We love the location to the beach (~1 block away) and to town (about .75 miles) and the convenience of being able to cook our own meals if we want to. The pool is also very nice and kept clean, as are the grounds.
  
  The day after we checked in, I told the front desk staff that the shower head wasn't working the best (water was shooting out at various angles) and asked for a few more towels and toilet paper. When we came back from a town a few hours later, the shower head had been cleaned worked properly and we had more towels and toilet paper.
  
  I highly recommend staying at Abbey del Sol, or its sister property La Buena Vida, which is just a half block away.

  We stayed for two weeks in unit #seven. Everything was perfect for us. The apartment was clean, cute, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all of the necessary items to make delicious meals. The pool was crystal clear and the lounge chairs were so comfy. My husband enjoyed riding the bikes that were available for guests. The environment was very quiet and respect full. They offered yoga classes on the upper terrace. We loved the 10 minute walk to downtown. A couple of days after arrival, Abby, the owner, called us and stated that she had read a negative review about unit number seven regarding the bathroom. She requested our feedback. We informed her that all was in working order except that the shower drained slowly. She immediately sent a repair man to fix the drain. I think it is important to understand that sometimes plumbing in Mexico can be a challenge, but due to Abby's attentiveness to detail', the breath bathroom issue was resolved. The staff at the apartment is fantastic: Jin, Nancy, & Freddie are wonderful! Before our arrival at the apartment abby saved us from a major calamity. I had mistakenly thought that we had rented a two bedroom apartment and had invited our daughter and her family to stay with us. Abby worked a miracle. She found a hotel on the beach for my extended family. Abby went above and beyond!!! Thank you Abby! We shall definitely be returning to Abbey Del Sol and shelling courage friends and family to stay at Abbey Del Sol.

It was great to have the access to bikes whenever you needed them. The beach is a close walk and near a top notch beach bar/restaurant. The only complaint I would have was the shower.   Everything about Abbey del Sol was wonderful. The staff is very friendly, the apartment was great. Very comfortable bed. We particularly enjoyed the pool area where we made some wonderful friends with other guests, and the bicycles were a godsend. First time back on a bike in over 30 years. Balcony for apartment 7 was a bit smaller than I had envisioned and in future would take on of the larger balcony apartments. Wifi wqas not as good as I had hoped making it impossible to connect with the laptop and keep in touch with my office. The smart phones worked fine on the Wifi and other guests had minor problems with a tablet. All in all, having been to Puerto Morelos 4 other times, this was by far our best vacation and we highly recommend Abbey del Sol.

  This is our fourth time staying in #7 at Abbey del Sol Two. We split our first stay in 2011 between #3 at La Buena Vida (fka as Abbey One) and #10 at Abbey Two. Its sister property – La Buena Vida – is also a wonderful place to stay. Both are located at the end of Av. Niñoes Heroes, which is about a half mile from the main square of Puerto Morelos.
  
  The rooms are well maintained and most have had some remodeling done – walls painted, new furniture, new artwork. The few issues we needed addressed were resolved quickly – having the shower head cleaned out, receiving more bottled water.
  
  We walk to town every night for dinner without any worries about our safety. We are also only a block from the beach, which is nice. Hanging out at the pool is fun too, which is how we made friends from our first trip in 2011 that we now we have now gotten together with on our return trips since 2011.
  
  Puerto Morelos has many dining options. There are still places we haven’t tried after 5 trips and every year there seems to be a new place as well.
  
  There is also a decently stocked store in town for your basic food, alcohol, and toiletry needs or you can go a few miles up the road to the Colonial where a bigger store is (like a Target or Costco) that has more options.
  
  I highly recommend Abbey or La Buena Vida in Puerto Morelos for your next vacation!

  Our stay overall was quite good.
  Our room was as described, it was clean, with a comfortable 'firm' bed and a well equipped kitchen. The only concern was that the bathroom sink did not have Hot water, so we washed our hands in the kitchen.The air conditioner's when needed, worked quietly and well.
  The only con was that the pool area didn't get more than 1 hour of sunshine, which made the pool much too cold to use! The beach is only a few blocks walk away but it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy the sun without having to go anywhere.
  The rooftop deck was a nice place to get some sunshine and the only 2 lounge chairs on it were very comfortable.
  The bicycles were updated on our 3rd day and they are very comfortable and a real plus to have to ride into town with!
  Overall we did enjoy our stay but would not return to this property due to not being able to use the pool area.

I always loved the quiet atmosphere at, being that the property is a 15 minute walk to the town square. the beach is also emptier at this end, which can be very pleasant. But also, right around the corner is the Unica Beach Bar, where you can rent, eat and drink (of course) for the day. The only reason I have chosen to move on is because I am a solo vacationer, but I need a two bedroom apartment for my guests that come and go. Also, for the my time alone without company, I want to be closer to the town square. However, I will truly miss staying at Abby del Sol.

  Abbey del Sol is perfect for travelers who want to have their own space that is bigger than a hotel room (you have your own apartment, equipped with a kitchen) and who don’t need to be pampered. That isn’t to say that the staff doesn’t take care of you – they do!
  
  You can cook your own meals if you want or you can walk or bike into town and pick from many different restaurants – Mexican, Italian, Chinese, steakhouse, and more! You are also only a slow, five-minute walk from the beach, which is very sandy.

  We had a great stay at Abbey del Sol. The units were clean and stylish and very roomy. We loved having the free bicycles, loved the roof top area for morning and evening meditation,the location was great to get to the beach (1 1/2 blocks) and to the town square (a nice 4 block walk). Puerto Moreles's selection of restaurants was not what we hoped. Abbey and Jin were friendly and informative hosts.

  We loved Abbey del Sol and Puerto Morelos. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The beach is great. There's a lot to do in and around the town. Abbey and Tiff's (and Jin's) suggestions for outings were perfect. We loved having the bikes because the hotel is several blocks away from the "action" of the town. We rode them around everywhere, day and night, and always felt safe. Our rooms were well equipped, comfortable and spacious. We'll be back with our kids.

  We spent 2 weeks in January at Abbey Del Sol. Easy booking and very easy to work with the management. Transportation to and from the airport was seamless. Our apartment had everything we needed to cook all meals if we wanted to. It was minutes to the beach and just a short safe walk to the town square for shopping and a great variety of restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks here.

  We had a wonderful time at Abbey del Sol! Jin and Freddy were very helpful in suggesting places to go and things to see. The use of the bikes was great we used them multiple times everyday. Everything was very clean, everyone was professional and very helpful. We didn't need to worry about anything. The beach was so close and the town a short bike ride away. A very laid back fun town to explore and just enjoy and relax in.

  We rented the last week in November 2011. The place was spacious and attractively decorated. Fridge and stove worked very well. Kitchen also had tea, coffee, sugar, S&P, and a little cooking oil. Bed was comfortable and a little softer than many of the hotels in the area. There was a large DVD library at the office.
  Location is a 15 minute walk to the centre of town and a block an a half from the beach. Beach chairs were provided. Excellent value; I just might like to try a place on the beach the next time.
