This newly renovated apartment is a 2-minute walk to the beach, 15-minute stroll or a short bike ride to the town square. This spacious ground floor apartment has a generous kitchen/living room and its own private garden patio, the perfect place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. New king bed with foam top covered with 500 thread count sheets. Make your meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Enjoy free Wi-Fi, free bikes, and a large flat screen TV. Linens supplied. Central office just steps away with helpful, friendly English speaking staff to help with anything you need.

The Abbey del Sol property has 7 comfortable apartments. Rent individually for couples and small families or in combination for groups and large families. Beautiful gardens, refreshing pool. 2 blocks to the beach and 8 blocks to the town square.

  My husband, my toddler and I stayed at Abbey del Sol for a quick getaway to celebrate both of their birthdays. It was wonderful. We were in a spacious unit on the ground level. We had our private terrace to enjoy coffee outside. Everything you could possibly need was available for use in the kitchen. We were provided with a 5 gallon bottle of water for cooking and drinking which was super convenient. The air conditioners in both the dining/kitchen/living area and the bedroom were in great working order but we primarily used the fan in the bedroom at night. King Bed was super comfortable and spacious for all three of us to sleep in. Water pressure in the bathroom was perfection with plenty of hot water. If you need a high chair just ask! They also have a “crib” but it’s more of pack and play and you’d need to bring your own bedding.
  
  We enjoyed hanging out at the pool and loved that the beach was a 5 minute walk from the property even more. Check out Unico Beach Club! My husband utilized the bicycle to run errands in town so that was very convenient. Plenty of restaurants and shops in walking and biking distance. Many of the restaurants also do delivery.
  
  The staff at the front were friendly, accommodating and professional. It was a wonderful little stay all in all. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Would definitely come back. The only con is that the tv is in the bedroom and when you have to put down a toddler at 8 pm, that leaves the rest of the evening with no entertainment unless you have your phone or laptop. Maybe a small tv can be placed in the living room area? Either way, it’s a very small con. Thank you to Mariela at front desk for being so kind and accommodating!

  What a great stay!! We had a wonderful time here with our 2 daughters of 10 and 12. The stay was very complete. Good beds, a kitchen with everything on it. The bathroom looked good and a lovely pool for the children. It also has a very good location. The beach is a 3-minute walk and the nice centre is a 5-minute walk.

  Abbey Del Sol is one of those places you want to tell everyone about but also want to keep a secret. As perfect as hotels get and I've stayed at a few. It's clean, quiet, has probably the best pool I've ever been in and is just spitting distance from the beach. Our room had tons of space and was really lovely to come back to each night. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, offering local tips and going out of their way to get us situated and comfortable. Abbey Del Sol might just be THE REASON we come back to Puerto Morelos.

  We had a lovely 10 day stay at Abbey Del Sol. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool is clean and refreshing. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. And though maid service is only once a week you can get fresh towels anytime. It is a very quiet area and if the walk to the main part of town is too long there are bikes to use or a taxi for 30 pesos. They also arranged an English speaking doctors appointment within an hour for an ear infection. Truly a stress free relaxing vacation.

Bathroom is spacious and there is a good size kitchen with a full size refrigerator. 2 blocks from the beach and a leisurely walk to the town square.   My family of 10, including 2 youngish children spent Christmas week at Abbey del Sol. There's no way to adequately describe what a wonderful time we had, thanks largely to this lovely place. We had four of the units here, which were all very spacious and very well appointed for vacationers wanting to use the kitchen and actually hang out at "home". The staff at Abbey were absolutely lovely, so kind and helpful.We couldn't have imagined a better week in the Yucatan!

  We really liked Puerto Morelos. We are in our early 60's and though we we not right on the beach, the apartment was very close to the beach and it was very comfortable. I thought I was going to look for places in Akumal or Tulum but the next time we go back (and that will be next year probably) we will stay in Puerto Morelos. The staff at Abbey Del Sol are great. The town is very nice and laid back with lots of food choices. We were very pleasantly surprised since we had not hearch much bout PM before this. I may want to check out Holbox Island too though since that appears to be a more rustic place, just north and west of Cancun.

  We realy enjoyed staying at Abbey Del Sol. It was comfortable. Access to beach chairs, towels (included), umbrella and even a cooler for a couple of days made our stay easy. We loved Puerto Morelos. All staff is friendly and helpful. Only wishes would be to have a few more kitchen condidments and maybe more comfy patio chairs in Unit 5. Otherwise, couldn't be better.

  Our Abbey del Sol rental was cheerful and charming. Every need is anticipated and the staff is friendly, professional and generously helpful. When asked for suggestions for improvement I could not think of a single one--well, perhaps a Keurig coffee maker. A very short walk to Unico Beach!

  In short our stay in Puerto Morales and at Abbey del Sol was fantastic - and there's a real Abby who was a delightful, gracious and responsive host. The town itself has a great welcoming vibe, an incredible beach and literally dozens of great places to eat; whether it was buying our morning mangos and bananas from the street truck for a few pesos, dining at Richard's on the town square or catching any number of great live music, every day was special and unique. I started by saying 'in short' and I guess this isn't short but you probably get what I want to say: Abbey del Sol and Puerto Morales are fantastic.

  My husband and I loved this special place we found as a last minute decision to visit Mexico. The room was very clean, kitchen well equipped,staff very friendly and met our requests very timely. Our favorite 2 things we loved were the accessibility of bikes for our use at any time, and the lovely clean pool at the center of the property. I must say this twice as we felt we would have been much more isolated fron the town square if we had not had the bikes, we very much loved having them. The town has many savoury restaurants,friendly people, and arts and craft shops. We also enjoyed fresh fish purchased from the local fish shop. We will definitely make a return visit to this very nice haven. I would recommend this to my friends and family.

  We spent a week in our cute little studio and had a wonderful time. The office was open every day, 8 to 5, and they had a Mexican and US phone available free for guest use. The staff was extremely helpful. The king bed was very comfortable, which is not always the case in Mexico. While not on the beach, the short, 1 block, walk to the beach was easy. Beach chairs were provided or you could spend the day in a lounge at a beach palapa restaurant/bar, which ended up being our choice. Puerto Morales is a nice compromise between a busy tourist town like Playa del Carmen and a very remote beach town with very few restaurants. We have stayed at many tropical beach towns throughout the world and this a great choice for a place to stay that balances convenience, comfort, and cultural immersion. P.S. There is a complete grocery store is you want to cook in at the units very complete kitchen.

  Everything about Abbey del Sol is wonderful. The owners and staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The proximity to the quiet part of the beach, the use of comfortable beach chairs, bicycles, an amazing DVD collection that came in handy during tropical storms, the roof top palapa with hammocks and loungers, refreshing pool and common area. We were in the King Studio for a week and it was much more spacious than we expected as was the lovely private courtyard with beautiful tropical plantings. The unit was immaculate and the bed very comfy and with nice fresh linens. The owners provide a detailed binder full of information on the area in each unit. This really is a gem of a place and we can't wait to return.

  Once again, our stay was very enjoyable, & we always felt safe and cared for. Unfortunately a member of our party was injured during our stay, and within an hour, Abbey had arranged a doctor's appointment, where we received excellent treatment. On our own, we would have not known where to find an English speaking doctor, or where to go for treatment, and were back at Abbey's to tell the tale within a short period of time. Excellent service, with a smile from the Abbey del sol team. We hope other people don't have to avail themselves of this "Abbey" service, but it was tremendous when we needed it. Peace of mind cannot be measured on any $ or rental survey scale. Mucho gracias Abbey and staff.

  Consider the title to my experience... I am what some call a "PT" ( perpetual traveler ) and am qualified to discuss rental experiences. In all my travels I try to secure comfort, reliability, friendliness, maintenance of the property and location to businesses. Rest assured I found all at Abbey del Sol. I was even loaned a cellular so that I could stay in contact. Bicycles, rides to and from the airport ( nominal cost ), and the nicest men and women ever. Please do not look further as they have small to LARGE units, houses, pools and only minutes from the beaches. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
