  Abbey del Sol was a great place to stay on our recent vacation with another couple. We really liked that our Juanita suite had two king sized beds and each room had its own bathroom with shower. The place was very comfortable with a kitchen and dining room and air conditioning. It was clean and well cared for. There was a small shared pool that we took advantage of everyday we were there!
  
  Milko was a great host and answered all our questions and helped us with any problems we encountered. The staff in the office were very helpful too.
  The communication before we arrived was a bit sparse. That would be my only criticism.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Juanita # 3, a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath property. Everything inside was comfortable and well taken care of. Any little problems that we caused were taken care of immediately by Milko, the owner who lives next door. The 4 units shared the pool area but there were always enough chairs to use. Just 1 block to the beach and beach chairs available for your use. This place is located on the north part of town so very quiet. A nice 20 minute walk to the main restaurant area of town. But only 1 block from Unico Beach Club or Muses Greek restaurant which was very handy.

  We were a family of 6 in Juanita 3. We had a wonderful time Milco and Juanita are the owners, they live next door and were very kind. They helped with taxis, laundry, and gave advice on things to do. The home was very nice, we met some nice couples and families in the other units and the town was great! We were just a short walk to the beach and the main shopping was just down the road.

  Our stay at Juanita number three was absolutely wonderful. Our family of five (kids ages 6-12) enjoyed every aspect of the property. Milko was very welcoming and kind and available for anything we could possibly need. The apartment was spotless and comfortable. The air-conditioning was fantastic for the scorching afternoons. We used the pool non stop.
  
  The property is beautiful and peaceful. It is a quick walk to the beach and a slightly longer jaunt to the main restaurant/shopping area.

  The tail end of our trip to Yucatan was spent at Casa Juanita and therefore our family only spent one night unfortunately. But it has been a wonderful experience that we all agreed we would love to repeat, for longer!   The property is beautiful. Air conditioning throughout the unit is nice for the humid summers. Full comfortable living room with satellite TV, dining table, fully furnished full sized kitchen, and two nicely sized bedrooms. The beds are extremely comfortable, the attached bathrooms nice and clean. There's even a mud room to hang wet swimsuits and towels.
  Nice, clean pool to relax in. Location is perfect, with a walk to the beach taking maybe 3 minutes. Downtown Puerto Morelos is a 10 minute walk.
  We could not have been happier with our stay. We loved it so much we actually extended our stay. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, providing excellent service every step of the way. Always attentive to our needs without being intrusive.

  The apartment, in a beautiful, safe, serene neighborhood two blocks from the beach and a great beach bar and restaurant, was a wonderful vacation site. The staff was very attentive, experienced, and connected to the best travelers' experiences in the community. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the building's private pool was sparkling.
  Puerto Morelos is a real community, a working fishing port, with excellent relationships between the local residents and expats and travelers. The Abbey del Sol staff gave us wonderful tips for restaurants and shopping. The arranged for snorkeling with a very experienced captain with whom they have worked for years.

  This was our 5th stay with Abbey del Sol in Puerto Morelos. Each visit we are impressed by the personal attention given by the staff. They are fantastic. The village is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean. The reef remains our favorite place to snorkel. There are numerous good restaurants in town, we especially enjoy Richards Bistro for fine dining. Richard is an amazing chef. Ask for Jauquin at the dock in the square for a great snorkeling experience. We would recommend Puerto Morelos to anyone looking for a laid back vacation with the best of Mexican culture. So much more enjoyable than the the hype of the resorts.

  I stayed here with my friend for a week. It was so nice to each have a big bedroom and full bath to ourselves--you don't find that setup very often. In addition, the rest of the apartment was spacious, comfortable, and lovely, with a full kitchen, dining room, and large living room, and all was cheerfully and tastefully decorated. We loved the location-about a block and a half from the beach and a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants and shops. The town of Puerto Morelos is very clean, safe, and friendly--I would even feel comfortable going back there on my own as a single female, which is not the case for other parts of Mexico I've been to. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

  Abbey del Sol staff and our property owner Milko Righetto were wonderful. Although we didn't spend a lot of time with Milko, we can imagine him as a friend we'd have at home. He was very welcoming as was Nancy at Abbey del Sol. They were mini cultural ambassadors. As for the property, it was excellent. The new pool at Casa Juanita was refreshing and cleaned everyday. We truly enjoyed our stay there. We only wish we could have stayed a bit longer to sink into the culture more.

  We stayed for two weeks, in Feb. and March, 2014. The suite was very clean and had lovely Mexican touches in the décor. Milko and his staff were really helpful. I thought the kitchen could have had a few more basic things (more bowls, a lime press, another cutting board, for example)but overall it was great. I especially loved the front porch which is shaded by a lovely coconut palm and catches the soft sea breezes. I would definitely stay here again.

  We stayed in Juanita 3. We actually rented Juanita 1 for two nights, but were upgraded to this (much bigger) apartment because Juanita 1 was dubbelbooked, which we really appreciated. This apartment has everything you need and is really clean. Staff and owners are very helpful. When we asked if it was possible to leave our bags somewhere during the day (checkout is at 10 but our plane did not leave until the evening) they let us stay until 3 o'clock, for free, in the apartment. They really did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
  It is located a little out of town (15 minutes walk, not too long) and just minutes from a really great beach.

  we couldn't have been happier with casa juanita 3, or the staff at the abbey. pilar in the front office was incredibly helpful, and never made us feel rushed with our inquiries no matter how busy she may have been. the grounds are kept up immaculately, and when we had a minor snafu pop up with the water system, a maintenance person was on the job to repair it immediately. if you're looking for a quiet location about a 15 minute walk north of town and one block away from the nirvana of unico's beach bar, it would be hard to beat the abbey.

  My husband & I plus 3 teenagers stayed at Juanita #3 for 10 days. The appartment was perfect with lots of place for everyone. Beautifully decorated and equipped with all the cooking utensils you would ever need. A great plus was the use of the bikes on site. Puerto Morales is a perfect place for a laid back holiday and has many excellent restaurants to choose from. Also within 30 miutes there are a number of amazing cenotes to explore ...our favorite was Verde Lucerno - an open-air cenote with a zip-line.

  We had a very enjoyable stay in Casa Juanita #3 of Abbey del Sol, Jan 7-14 2012. So much so that we made a reservation to do it all again next year. CJ-3 is an upstairs 2-bedroom apartment with a comfortable living room, 2 comfortable queen beds, beautiful (fully furnished) kitchen, dining room for 6, computer desk, side room with futon, and nice patio. The three baths (2 with showers) were more than we needed, but they could be a blessing for a large group. We enjoyed the creative, tastefully appointed surroundings. Personal touches were everywhere.
  
  Casa Juanita is about a 20-minute walk from town center...or 20 pesos by taxi. If you walk and carry some bread or tortillas, you can feed the tejones on the way (tejones is the local term for coati mundis). This was our first visit to Puerto Morelos, and we found the town pleasant and to provide excellent value for the money.
  
  The beach is quite nice and easily accessible from Abbey del Sol. It gets a bit busy on Sundays, but otherwise you will have more room than you know what to do with. There are lifeguards on duty at the stations a bit closer to town center. There is even some snorkeling from the beach, once you find the right spots. Floating alongside a four-and-a-half foot barracuda (as I did) might be a bit unsettling to some, though. There are comfortable, portable beach chairs available from Abbey del Sol if you prefer to supervise from shore.
  
  Casa Juanita #3 is almost as nice as its on-line photos picture it. We were quite comfortable there, though one of our 3 air conditioners did not seem to be operating at full capacity. WiFi service was reasonably good (we sat right next to the router), with download speeds better than 3 MB/sec...good enough for telephone conversations over MagicJack. We could not do that from Playa del Carmen last November or from Cancun last January.
  
  My wife & I did think that bathrobes would be a nice addition.

  Everything about our stay at Casa Juanita of Abby del Sol was just wonderful! Before we ever made reservations, the owners personally called us after we emailed a question. They were friendly and helpful. Like we were working with family, rather than a hard-nosed businessman. The location was an easy walk to the beach, longer walk to the main square for groceries, but the free bikes with baskets for groceries, to hop on made that a fun trip. We did walk it many times and felt like it was a relaxing good stroll! We loved the tranquility of Puerto Morelos yet it had the right touristy flavor of cafes, street restaurants and shops all without people badgering you to buy. We always felt safe enough. It was am easy 30 minute bus trip to Cancun and or Playa del Carmen to take in the sights and sounds there for diversion. Lots of things to see and do close around the area. Casa Juanita was perfect for our needs! Well maintained and spotless. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Jin, the manager was very friendly with a smile all the time, and spoke good English. When we asked for an iron and he wasn't sure there was one to borrow, (who on vacation could possibly need an iron) though we agreed he would bring it tomorrow morning if he could find one, I thought to myself, that will never happen. But sure enough he was at our door the next morning with iron and board in hand. And so it was with everything; they aimed to please. Our initial reservation was extended from 3 days to 8. We loved it, so choose to stay put rather than move on! I have already recommended it to others! If we ever get to go back I'll rent from Abby del Sol!
